Lesson Rules
Here are some guidelines for taking lessons. I know everybody, including myself, loves rules. But these are posted to keep things running ultra-smoothly, and some of them are posted at the request of others (neighbors, wives, ect.)
Lesson Fees:
- Lesson fees are due the first week of the month. Even if you have credit from the month before.
- You are responsible for the remainder of the lessons you pay for. In essence you are paying for reserving the time slot.
- If you have to cancel at the last minute, call! Sometimes there might be another time during that week we can make up the lesson.
- I'll only reschedule lessons if I can, and only during the same week. Once that week is over, then that's it. That lesson is in the books and can't be made up.
- The main thing is communication. If you have an emergency come up, we can work it out.
That's all there is to it! Again, communication is the key.
Other rules:
- When you come to lessons please make sure you use the sidewalks. Don't cut across the neighbor's yard!
- Please park in the front of the house in the street.
- There is one parking place in the back, right next to the fence. You can use that too, but keep in mind the rest of the parking spaces in the back belong to my neighbor.
- No parking in the driveway, except to drop people off and pick people up.
- Please close the gate when you come in and out of the backyard.
- Please don't litter. If you smoke please extinquish your cigarette in your car in the ashtray. Don't throw it into the street, or worse yet, in someone's (that's including our) yard.
Thank you for observing these rules. They are designed to help everything go smoothly, including relations with the neighbors.
Bringing others to lessons:
- For younger students, having a parent at the lesson can be of major help. It's like having a second set of ears. So parents, don't feel bad about sitting in on a lesson every now and then, or even every week.
- Older students tend to bring a friend or two to their lessons every now and then. Once again, this is ok with me. It usually works two ways. The friend or friends are quiet, read and do homework. If they have a question they ask it right away or at the end of the lesson. Or the friend asks questions through the entire lesson. Here's how I see it: if it is ok with you the student, it's ok with me. It's your lesson. Just realize I end up with my attention split in half and you won't get the individual instruction you are paying for. It almost ends up becoming a mini-class.
Thank you for reading this page. It's probably the least fun of all the pages, but it is important. Thanks.
